Maintenance Technician - Waste Water

The Maintenance Tech position with Multi Energy Group requires basic knowledge of industrial and domestic water and wastewater treatment plant equipment. Maintenance is performed on the collection and distribution systems according to an established set of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for painting, installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal in commercial and industrial buildings. Maintains equipment by performing minor repairs and routine maintenance as required and directed. Update logbook on routine and abnormal conditions. Assist municipal and contracted technicians or inspectors on audits and sample collections. Coordinate hazardous waste pickup and disposal.

Qualifications:

A water distribution license (Collection) is preferred or the ability to achieve within 6 months of employment. High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent. Must possess a good standing Georgia Driver’s License. Must be able to pass background and drug test. Ability to routinely lift and carry 50+ pounds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1-2 years of experience in water distribution and waste water disposal in residential, commercial and industrial buildings Basic plumbing knowledge. Have knowledge of relevant building codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures of installation and maintenance. Flexibility in worksite locations and schedule changes due to work needs Ability to work cooperatively with other trades

Physical Demands

May spend long hours outside and in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain. The position will be lifting and adjusting heavy objects, and will come in contact with sharp, hot and/or very cold supplies and equipment. Must maintain safety procedures at all times to avoid injury. May also come in contact with potential poisons and gases that could cause injury or illness.

Sensory Demands

Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with sewer and water, exposure to the sounds associated with power tools and construction sites, and exposure to dust and other debris associated with the use of power tools and construction sites all of which can cause sensory strain including headaches.
